Megane Ichiba, operated by Megane Top Co., Ltd. (headquarters: Aoi Ward, Shizuoka City; CEO: Masahiro Tomizawa), has joined the “Supporting Companies that Improve Society Project” launched by Shinfield Co., Ltd. (Chiyoda Ward, Tokyo; CEO: Shinya Taniguchi) and with Kosaku Shima serving as its official ambassador, and has appointed Kosaku Shima as a special lens ambassador for Megane Ichiba.

On the special site featuring Kosaku Shima, the company will use four-frame comic strips to clearly explain the characteristics of Megane Ichiba lenses. In addition, a special interview between Kosaku Shima and Masahiro Tomizawa, the president and CEO of Megane Top Co., Ltd., which operates Megane Ichiba, is also planned.

About “Shima Kosaku” and the “Shima Kosaku Series” (original work: Hirokane Kenshi / Kodansha)

Shima Kosaku first appeared in Kodansha's young men's manga magazine Morning in 1983 as the protagonist of “Section Chief Shima Kosaku.” The series depicts the realities of business people and the socio-economic and political situation of the time, as he overcomes obstacles to rise to the top, and has sold over 47 million copies.
