Metal Slug Tactics will be released in the fall

A DotEmu and the Leikir Studio announced that the game Metal Slug Tactics will be released for Playstation 4, Xbox one, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch It is PRAÇA (Steam) during fall 2024. However, players will be able to get an early glimpse of the battlefield through a playable demo during the Steam Next Fest which takes place between the 10th and 17th of June.

The gameplay trailer that we can see above features the veterans of the famous “run and gun” from SNKnamely Marco, Eri, Fio and Tarma on isometric battlefields where strategy goes hand in hand with challenging combat.

Each match begins with carefully building a squad armed with unique equipment to participate in battles that test players' intuition and efficiency. Surviving shootouts with lower-ranking enemies will lead to decisive battles against bosses that should not be unknown to the biggest fans of the series.

For this and many other reasons Metal Slug Tactics is simultaneously a homage to the timeless classic and an imaginative new way to celebrate the series' return by channeling the unparalleled aesthetic of Metal Slug through beautiful pixel art and fluid animation. The highly replayable battlefields combine diverse terrain and maps with unique looking surfaces through light roguelite elements.

Players are invited to wield the classic weapons of Metal Slug and evolve their abilities through an exquisite skill tree, and an adrenaline system that fuels super-powerful attacks to outwit and demolish the flanks of the series' signature villains. All the action is accompanied by an original soundtrack with tracks composed by Tee Lopesthe famous Portuguese composer of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge, Sonic ManiaIt is Streets of Rage 4.
