The musical “Jungle Emperor Leo” presented by Warabiza, the only professional theater company based in Tohoku that has been performing for over 70 years, will finally open on April 21st! Enjoy the musical based on “Jungle Emperor” by Osamu Tezuka, the legendary manga artist who created many masterpieces.

Warabi Theater (Semboku City, Akita Prefecture), operated by Warabiza, is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year.

Warabi Theater was built with the support of 8 million people nationwide, and is a theater with a unique history in Japan. In 1995, it has been 29 years since the long-running original musical began at Warabi Theater. During this time, he created nearly 100 works of varying sizes.

To commemorate these 50 years of progress, this year the Warabi Theater has decided to perform the musical “Jungle Emperor Leo” based on the timeless masterpiece “Jungle Emperor” by manga god Osamu Tezuka. 109 performances are scheduled from April 21, 2024 to November 24, 2024.

Osamu Tezuka and Warabiza’s relationship with founder Harataro has led to the creation of three musicals to date: “Phoenix Edition,” “Atom,” and “Buddha,” and this is their fourth production. becomes.

The original work, published in 1950, raises the issues of today, such as energy problems, the destruction of nature, and coexistence with diverse living things, and transcends time with its grand message that each life supports each other to protect the earth. speaks to us.

Osamu Tezuka has continued to create works that can be enjoyed by both children and adults, and this performance also features fun scenes such as everyone cheering for the child Leo from the audience, and unique animals singing and dancing in unique costumes. full. Additionally, in the 73 years since its founding, Warabi-za has created a variety of works based on Japanese folk traditions, and this time, for the first time, they have expressed the great nature and animals of Africa.
Warabi-za’s unique stage show will feature African rhythms played by Japanese drums, and 13 actors moving with their whole bodies to express a taste of Japanese folk dances borrowed from animal figures.

“Pay What You Wish” is a pricing system that allows buyers to freely decide the amount they want to pay for a product.
