ROG Ally X will have twice the battery and more RAM

O VideoCardz had access to promotional material from ROG Ally Xthe successor of ROG Allyand finally we have more details about its specifications that will please gamers, namely a double increase in battery capacity and even more RAM.

It was thus confirmed that the ROG Ally X will keep the same Ryzen Z1 Extreme APU from the ROG Ally and the same 7-inch screen with a 120 Hz refresh rate and 500 nits brightness.

What changed was its design to be able to accommodate a larger battery, they are now 80 Whdouble the ROG Ally. It is also revealed that the ROG Ally X will own 24GB of LPDDR5(X)-7500 memory, an increase compared to 16GB LPDDR5-6400 from the ROG Ally. This increase of 8GB of RAM thus puts the ASUS ROG Ally X at the same level as Lenovo Legion Go.

Double the battery means the ROG Ally X will be 70 grams heavier (678g) and slightly thicker (36.9mm vs. 32.4mm) than the ROG Ally. The ROG XG Mobile port for external GPU has been replaced with a USB4 Type-C port, which supports DisplayPort 1.4 and Power Delivery 3.0.

It was also revealed that the ASUS updated the fan to be 23% smaller with 50% thinner fins. Despite these changes, airflow increased by 10%. The official presentation of the ROG Ally X will happen in Computexthe event that will take place from June 4th to 7th, 2024.
