Players spoke out strongly against the decision to make it mandatory to link an account Steam to an account PlayStation Network to continue playing Helldivers 2 and in a communication to PlayStation revealed that he decided not to move forward with the decision.

Helldivers fans – we heard yours feedback regarding the Helldivers 2 account linking update. The May 6 update, which would require Steam and PlayStation Network account linking for new players and current players starting May 30, will not move forward.
We're still learning what's best for PC gamers and your feedback has been invaluable. Thank you again for your continued support of Helldivers 2 and we will keep you updated on future plans.
