Halo Legends – anime

A Microsoft announced that it will release a DVD anthology of 7 animated shorts based on the franchise Halo. One thing we cannot criticize Microsoft for is its “lack of taste”, the American giant with its many dollars hired the best of the best to work on this project.

Halo Legends will have as animation studios: Bones (Cowboy Bebop: The Movie), Casio Entertainment (Big Man Japan), Production I.G. (Blood: The Last Vampire), Studio4°C (Tekkonkinkreet) and Toei Animation (Dragon Ball), as directors we will find Frank O’Connor from Microsoft’s 343 Industries, Shinji Aramaki (Appleseed) and Mamoru Oshii (Ghost in the Shell, The Sky Crawlers).

Shinji Aramaki’s short will cover the history of the Spartan class, Studio 4°C will animate two 30-minute shorts about “the entire 100,000-year history of the Halo universe”, in turn Toei Animation will satirize and make fun of some game characters.

Warner Brothers will release the anthology on DVD and Blu-ray in 2010.
