With the start of the “Pillar Training Arc,” the anime “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba” has the most fans! May 2024 Entertainment Brand Survey Results Now Available

GEM Partners, which provides data and digital marketing services for the entertainment industry, conducts monthly surveys for its “Oshi Entertainment Brand Scope” product, which supports maximizing the entertainment business. Highlights of the latest survey results for May 2024 have been released.

“Favourite Entertainment Brand Scope” conducts a monthly survey of 30,000 people aged 15-69 living nationwide on “the entertainment brand they're currently favouring”. Rather than choosing from a pre-specified list, respondents are asked to respond in an open-ended format, and the results are collated (the process of examining the information entered by respondents and combining responses that refer to the same content) and tabulated using the “Entertainment Content Dictionary” developed by GEM Partners.

In the “Top 10 Number of Favorite Fans” for May 2024, “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba” saw a large increase in the number of “Favorite Fans” of 1.37 million from the previous month, reaching 2.3 million. It took first place, far ahead of second-place “YouTube” (1.61 million). It is believed that fan enthusiasm was rekindled with the anime broadcast of the “Hashira Training Arc” that began on May 12.

Looking at the monthly trends in the “Number of Favorite Fans” for “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba,” “Jujutsu Kaisen,” and “SPY×FAMILY,” and looking at the trends for “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba” by broadcast period, there is a downward trend, with 4.31 million fans for the “Entertainment District Arc” (February 2022), 2.72 million fans for the “Swordsmith Village Arc” (May 2023), and 2.3 million fans for the “Hashira Training Arc” (May 2024).

However, it still exceeds the 1.9 million viewers (October 2023) when “Jujutsu Kaisen's” “Kaitama/Tamaori/Shibuya Incident” aired, and is at a similar level to the 2.33 million viewers (June 2022) when “SPY×FAMILY” Season 1, First Cour aired, remaining at a very high level.

The survey date for May was May 18th, immediately after the broadcast of the “Hashira Training Arc” on May 12th. Depending on how the popularity spreads from now on, the number of “favorite fans” may increase further, so attention will be focused on the next trend.
