Universal Studios Japan has announced that the opening of Donkey Kong Country, a new area in Super Nintendo World that was scheduled to open in the spring of 2024, will be extended to the second half of 2024.
◆“Donkey Kong Country” opening extended to late 2024
Donkey Kong Country, a new Donkey Kong-themed area that has been under development since September 2021, was originally scheduled to open in spring 2024.
However, today, April 19th, it was announced that the opening date will be changed to the second half of 2024.
The reason for the extension is that although the development work in this area has already entered the final stages, a certain period of adjustment will be required in order to bring out the experiential value and further improve the level of completion.
Ride attractions such as “Donkey Kong’s Crazy Trolley” will appear in the area. Universal Studios Japan Official X (formerly Twitter) reports that the specific opening date will be announced at a later date.
