The second episode of the Pillar Training arc begins with the appearance of the crow with Hayami Shou's dandy voice. The scene in which the Master, Ubuyashiki Kagaya's crow, invites the demon Tamayo to the Demon Slayer Corps headquarters, and the appearance of the distraught Yushiro has drawn a wide variety of reactions from viewers, including “It's begun! The crow has such a cool voice!”, “Yushiro's movements are so dynamic lol”, and “Of course if you hear Hayami Shou's voice coming from the crow, you're going to be wary.”

It seems that the Master had contacted not only Tamayo but also Tanjiro. The letter expressed concern for Giyu Tomioka, who was not participating in the training, and Tanjiro decided to visit Giyu. Giyu himself pretended not to be home, but Tanjiro visited him anyway!

Seeing Tanjiro literally knee-to-knee with him, Giyuu responded with comments such as, “Tanjiro really is ramming lol,” “A rare Tomioka-san gag face,” and “Tanjiro… you're the scariest.” However, seeing Tanjiro persistently talk to Giyuu, Giyuu seems to have given up. He slowly begins to explain why he doesn't participate in training.

“I didn't pass the final selection.” That's what Giyuu's past begins with: he took on the final selection with Sabito, and while he defeated most of the demons and protected his friends, he was the only one who sacrificed himself during the test. He feels guilty and regretful about that past. However, Tanjiro recalls that he had the same experience, and, realizing Giyuu's efforts after Sabito's death, asks, “Aren't you going to carry on what Sabito entrusted to you, Giyuu?”

He recovers by reminiscing about his memories with his sister and Sabito, and what happened after they parted ways, but Tanjiro, unable to bear the heavy atmosphere, proposes a soba eating contest! Along with touching comments such as “I was so engrossed in watching Giyuu that I was at a loss for words” and “The story of Giyuu and Sabito is great after all,” there were also some stunned reactions such as “Huh? This is starting to seem like a joke… with this flow?! Huh!?”

The second episode also featured the debut of the ending theme song “Eternal – Tokoshie” by HYDE x MY FIRST STORY! This also caused a big stir, with people saying things like “An ending with HYDE as the main character!?” and “The ending is amazing, it gave me goosebumps!”
