[Oshi no Ko]Season 2: A flurry of information revealed at live event, audience cheers “Wow!” “Awesome!”

On the 26th, the “TV Anime “Oshi no Ko” New Information Released Live Broadcast with Audience “[Oshi no Ko]Support Association” Coverage” was held in Tokyo, where the main visual and PV for the second season of the TV anime, the opening theme song, broadcast start date, new character information, and character visuals for Aqua and Kurokawa Akane were released.

“Oshi no Ko” is a story about the entertainment industry that began serialization in Weekly Young Jump (Shueisha) in April 2020.

The main character, Goro, who works as an obstetrician-gynecologist, meets his favorite idol, Hoshino Ai, but after he dies in an incident, he is reincarnated as Ai's child. This leads to him following in her footsteps and pursuing a career in showbiz.

The original work was written by Akasaka Aka, known for the popular manga “Kaguya-sama: Love is War,” which won first place in the comics category at the Next Manga Awards 2021. In addition to idols and actors, the series also features characters from behind-the-scenes staff such as directors and producers, and has gained popularity for its realistic portrayal of the world of showbiz. A TV anime series was broadcast from April to June 2023.

The second season will depict Aqua, Kana Arima, and Akane Kurokawa, who have been confirmed to appear in the 2.5-dimensional stage production “Tokyo Blade.”

At the event, where voice actors Otsuka Takeo (Aqua), Ikoma Yurie (Ruby), Han Megumi (Arima Kana), Iwami Manaka (Kurokawa Akane), and Okubo Rumi (MEMcho) appeared on stage, cheers of “Oh!” erupted from the audience when the main visual was projected onto the screen.

Some people also drew attention to the “crow feathers” scattered throughout the visual.

Also, when the first main PV was shown, there was a big reaction of “Oh!”, “Awesome!”, “Cool!”. The cast members who appeared on stage left their seats and looked at the monitor at the front of the stage in excitement. Otsuka, who was left behind in his seat, looked at it sadly, inviting laughter.

The second season will be broadcast on TOKYO MX and over 30 other stations nationwide from 11:00 pm on July 3rd, and ABEMA will simultaneously broadcast it on terrestrial TV and stream it independently. The opening theme song is “Fatale” by GEMN.

Additionally, it was announced that Sakura Ayane will play the role of Abiko Samejima, the original author of the 2.5-dimensional stage play “Tokyo Blade,” and Ono Daisuke will play the scriptwriter GOA.
