On the 27th, Yuji Horii, the creator of Dragon Quest and game designer, updated his X. He explained the progress of the new title in the popular Dragon Quest series, Dragon Quest XII: Flame of the Chosen Destiny.
The “Dragon Quest” series is an RPG in which the player becomes the protagonist of the story and fights against the Demon King who is trying to take control of the world. Since the first “Dragon Quest”, developed by Chunsoft and published by Enix, was released in 1986, it has become one of Japan's most popular game titles.
The production of “Dragon Quest 12” was announced in May 2021, and Dragon Quest creator and game designer Yuji Horii introduced it by saying, “This time it has a dark feel. It's a Dragon Quest for adults.” He added, “Actually, we've completely revamped the command battle. It's different! I think existing users will be able to play it without any discomfort.
I think it's going to be interesting,” he predicted.
