Cumulative total of over 900,000 copies! Honobu Yonezawa’s latest book in the popular school mystery series, “Winter Limited Bonbon Chocolat Incident”, will be published on April 30th!

The much-anticipated school mystery is set to be made into a TV anime in July 2024 as part of the “Small Citizen Series.”

The long-awaited latest work is now available in paperback!

The Little Citizen series is a school mystery series drawn by Naoki Prize-winning author Honobu Yonezawa, featuring the famous duo of Kobato and Osanai. This is a very popular series with a cumulative circulation of over 900,000 copies.

Jogoro Kobato and Yuki Osanai want to live modestly as small-time citizens rather than become great detectives, but they end up encountering various mysteries. “Winter Limited Bonbon Chocolat Incident” was published on April 30th as the long-awaited latest feature in the series that depicts the strange daily lives and deductions of these two people.

This work depicts the biggest incident in the series and is the final work of the four-part series. Approximately 20 years have passed since the publication of the first work in the series, “Spring Limited Strawberry Tart Incident,” and now four works in spring, summer, fall, and winter are now available.

In conjunction with the publication of “Winter Limited Bonbon Chocolat Incident”, various campaigns and events will be held. The latest information will be posted on the “Little Citizens” series special website and on each of Tokyo Sogensha’s SNS.

And from the series, “Spring Limited Strawberry Tart Incident” and “Summer Limited Tropical Parfait Incident” have been decided to be made into TV animation as the “Little Citizen Series”, which will begin broadcasting in July 2024. Broadcast on the “NUMAnimation” slot of TV Asahi’s 24 network stations nationwide and on BS Asahi. Director Mamoru Kobe and other talented staff members have been assembled, and the main cast members include Shuichiro Umeda, Hina Hitsujimiya, and Shin Furukawa.

To commemorate the anime adaptation, the latest book in the series, “Winter Limited Bonbon Chocolat Incident”, includes a bookmark with a teaser visual. Please look forward to this too.

In 2001, she made her debut by winning the 5th Kadokawa Gakuen Novel Award Encouragement Award (Young Mystery & Horror Category) for her novel “Hyouka.” Her writing style, which combines the charm of youth novels with the fun of solving mysteries, attracted attention, and she established herself as a popular author with works such as “The Spring Limited Strawberry Tart Incident.” In 2011, he won the 64th Japan Mystery Writers Association Award for “Broken Keel”, in 2014 he won the 27th Yamamoto Shugoro Award for “Mangan”, in 2021 he won the 12th Yamada Fuutarou Award for “Black Prison”, and the following year.
