“My Dress-Up Darling” (original work by Fukuda Shinichi) is a cosplay-themed romantic comedy that has been serialized in Young Gangan since 2018.

The main character, Gojo Niina, is a high school boy in training to become a “head maker” who makes the faces of Hina dolls.

Gojo has no friends because his hobbies and interests are different from his classmates', but one day he is found making a costume for a doll by his classmate, Kitagawa Marin. The cosplay love story, in which the two characters grow closer through cosplay, quickly became very popular, and a TV anime adaptation began airing in January 2022, drawing a huge response. Although it is a romantic comedy, the cosplay is depicted in great detail, and the costume production and cosplay event participation scenes are full of realism that anyone who has actually participated in an event will understand.
