This new trailer and poster for the 4th live-action film based on the manga has now been revealed Kingdom in Yasuhisa Hara which will premiere on July 12, 2024. This 4th film is titled Kingdom: Taishogun no Kikan (Return of the General) and Shinsuke Satowho worked on the previous three films, will continue to direct.
Kingdomthe first film directed by Shinsuke Sato (GANTZ, live-action Bleach films), was released in Japan on April 19, 2019 and grossed 5.73 billion yen ($42.26 million). After Kingdom 2 Harukanaru Daichi and (To the Land of Faraway), the second film released on July 15, 2022, grossed 5.12 billion yen ($37.76 million).
The third film premiered in Japan on July 28, 2023 and ranked first on its opening weekend. The film had the best opening weekend of the three films Kingdom.
The story takes place 2500 years ago in China and follows two young people without a family, Li Xin and Hyō. Despite living as slaves, they both dream of one day becoming great Warlords.
The manga began to be released in 2006 and in 2012 an anime series adaptation was released by the studio Pierrot.
