Sanrio Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Tomokuni Tsuji; hereinafter referred to as Sanrio) has announced that the character “JOCHUM” jointly developed by JO1 and Sanrio will be featured on Fuji TV’s “Mezamashido” starting this summer. We would like to inform you that it has been decided that it will be made into a TV animation on the program “Youbi” (every week (Saturday) from 6:00 to 8:30).

The series composition and script are written by Yoichi Kato, who has worked on “Aikatsu!”, “Yokai Watch”, etc. The director is Hazumu Sakuta, known for works such as “Sumikko Gurashi: The Mysterious Girl of the Tsugihagi Factory”, and Kato and Sakuta have previously worked together on “Uchuu Nanchara Kano Kotetsukun”. Animation production will be handled by Aggressive Retsuko’s Fan Works, which will incorporate opinions and preferences from JO1 members into the anime. This is the first time that “JOCHUM” has been made into a TV anime, and it is an original story that depicts the hilarious daily lives of 11 characters striving to achieve their dreams, and is a work that the whole family can enjoy.
