“Spice and Wolf” Act 5 Lawrence dives into the underground waterway to rescue Holo!

The TV anime “Spice and Wolf: MERCHANT MEETS THE WISE WOLF” will be broadcast on TV Tokyo and other channels every Monday at 25:30 starting April 1, 2024 (Monday). The preliminary cut and synopsis of Act 5 have been released.

“Spice and Wolf: MERCHANT MEETS THE WISE WOLF” is based on the popular light novel “Spice and Wolf” by Chisuna Hasekura. Published by KADOKAWA Dengeki Bunko, it won the 12th Dengeki Novel Award (Silver Prize), and the series celebrated its 15th anniversary in 2021.
Currently, the cumulative circulation of the series has exceeded 5 million copies, and the sequel “Spice and Wolf Spring Log” and the spin-off series “Shinsetsu Spice and Wolf: Wolf and Parchment” have also been published. It is very popular not only in Japan but also overseas.
Although it was made into an anime in 2008 and 2009, “Spice and Wolf” is not a sequel to those, but a re-animation from the beginning of the story.

The Medio Company, which set up the trick surrounding the Treney silver coins, captures Holo and threatens Lawrence and his friends to withdraw from the silver coin transaction.
After confirming the situation with Mirone Shokai’s branch manager, Mahlheit, Lawrence devises a plan to overcome this crisis. Lawrence then dives into a dark underground waterway to rescue Holo.
