Release of light paper for creator-first AI x Blockchain project “Animechain.ai”

Animechain LLC has released a light paper that provides an overview of “Animechain.ai'', a project that supports creators' creative activities using AI and blockchain. We developed an AI specialized for anime production using an opt-in model that takes copyright into account, and ensured the traceability of learning data and products using blockchain technology. We will create an ethical ecosystem that creators can use with peace of mind and receive appropriate compensation. Additionally, by providing AI-based animation production support tools and workflows, we aim to unleash creativity and improve production efficiency. In addition, we will support the sustainable development of the anime content industry by forming a value-sharing economic zone using the AI ​​copyright asset “AIRA” and unique tokens that enable investment in anime IP. Through “Animechain.ai”, we will support the expanding anime market and help creators express themselves more creatively.

■ What is the “Anime Chain Concept”?

This initiative aims to expand the content ecosystem, enable creators to continue their production activities even in the coming AI era, and maximize their profits.

① Creating a safe and secure environment for creators

With the aim of respecting the rights of creators, we provide generative AI and related tools in which all learning, including the base model, has been reconstructed using “opt-in materials” that have been approved by the rights holder. Furthermore, to ensure the transparency and legitimacy of generative AI, the development process will be recorded on the blockchain. Through this, we will aim to resolve ethical issues as well as copyright issues related to generative AI.

② Resolving the “labor shortage” in the content industry

Japan's content industry, especially the anime industry, is facing a serious problem of “labor shortage'' at production sites, despite growing global demand. In order to deal with this dire situation, we believe it is essential to introduce generative AI that utilizes blockchain and has a legitimate pedigree. We aim to create an environment where high-quality content can be produced more quickly even with limited personnel, prevent industrial stagnation due to “labor shortages,” and achieve sustainable growth.

③ Maximize creator profits

We envision that the revenue from content created using generative AI will be returned not only to the creator who created it, but also to the rights holder who provided learning data based on the generation process on the blockchain. We believe that by providing creators with the process of creating original drawings and images used as learning data, they can maximize their profits and focus on more creative production activities.

The vision of this initiative is to develop the entertainment and content industry, which Japan is proud of, including anime, manga, games, and VTubers, in a healthy manner and increase sustainability.

In order to further expand the content ecosystem, we will work with support partners that will join in the future to actively utilize anime characters in advertising, match with advertising clients, provide marketing support for localization, and gather needs from fans across the industry. We also plan to provide products and services that are not currently covered.

We aim to increase the number of partners and achieve our vision as soon as possible by providing incentives to supporting partners and contributors using our own ecosystem tokens.
