New “Monster Hunter” game allows players to switch weapons while hunting New footage of “Monster Hunter Wilds” unveiled

New footage from the upcoming Monster Hunter game series, MONSTER HUNTER WILDS, has been released.

The mount animal is “Secret.” It is a mount animal that supports the hunter's movement by utilizing its proud mobility. When you specify a destination on the map, it will automatically take you there by relying on the scent. Some items and slingers can be used during the movement, and you can prepare for the hunt by recovering stamina and sharpness, and gathering.

In addition to supporting movement, it is equipped with a “weapon bag” that can store a second weapon of your choice, allowing you to switch weapons even while hunting.

Hunters can use all 14 weapon types familiar to the series: greatsword, long sword, one-handed sword, dual blades, hammer, hunting horn, lance, gunlance, slash axe, charge axe, insect glaive, light bowgun, heavy bowgun, and bow.

In addition to new actions being added to each weapon type, the hunting experience will be further expanded with evolved hunting actions.

The new monster is the “Doshiaguma,” a “Bayakujuu” monster with a strong physique. It has a strong sense of territory, a wide range of movement, and high aggression, and sometimes forms packs.

The Chatakabra is an amphibian that strengthens itself by attaching minerals and other substances to its front legs using sticky saliva. Because of this property, it is also called the “Clad Frog.”

The worldview of the work is also revealed, with a field that dynamically changes its appearance from moment to moment. It is a story of monsters and people living in a world with two sides: a harsh environment where monsters swarm and fight, and an environment brimming with abundant life.

As a “Hunter” who makes a living by hunting powerful monsters, players will use the materials they obtain from hunting to create stronger weapons and armor, while unraveling the connection between the world and its people.

It offers the ultimate hunting experience with evolved hunting action and uninterrupted immersion.

New characters will also appear, including Alma, the “compiler” who requests and grants permission for monster hunting, and manages and accepts quests; Gemma, the research team's craftsman; Gemma, who is in charge of producing and processing weapons and armor; and Nata, a mysterious boy who accompanies the research team.

The game will be compatible with PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam, and is scheduled to be released in 2025.
