In Japan, man attacks co-worker for Oshi no Ko spoiler

O Livedoor News reported a bizarre case in Japan that involved an assault in response to a spoiler Oshi no Ko.

An employee of the Kyoto Legal Affairs Bureau was taken to court for an alleged assault on one of his subordinates. The man was accused of attacking a co-worker after he gave him a spoiler Oshi no Ko during a casual conversation.

Allegedly the accused and his subordinate, both in their 50s, were chatting casually and according to sources, during the conversation, the subordinate mentioned details about the story of “Oshi no Ko”, which provoked the anger of the accused, who expressed his dissatisfaction at receiving spoilers. In a fit of rage, he grabbed his subordinate’s neck and hit him with a foot in the abdominal region.

Fortunately, the subordinate did not suffer serious injuries, however, local police received a report from the affected subordinate, which led to an investigation by authorities.

The manga Oshi no Ko in Akasaka Aka with illustrations by Mengo Yokoyari was adapted into an anime by the studio Doga Kobo (New Game!, Ikebukuro West Gate Park) directed by Daisuke Hiramaki (Selection Project) and Chao Nekotomi (Love is Like a Cocktail). A second season will debut in July 2024.

In the description of Oshi no Ko we can read:
