Helldivers II studio has a new CEO

You Arrowhead Game Studioscreators of Helldivers IIannounced that Shams Jorjani (ex Paradox Interactive) is its new CEO.

It was also revealed that the studio's founder and former CEO, Johan Pilestedtwill remain linked to the studio as creative director and president.

Pilestedt commented:

I've been thinking about the journey ahead for Arrowhead, the future games we'll make, and managing the organization beyond the 120 or so producers we currently have. I realized that running an organization with more than 100 people, no matter how big it is… means I will have to choose between deepening my love for game creation or business.

During the last year, before the release of Helldivers II, I was drawn more towards the business side and wasn't able to focus as much on the creative side. This made me realize that I needed to make some decisions, both for the success of the business, but also for myself.

So I got in touch with Shams. We had lunch and asked if I reconsidered running Arrowhead for the next decade and needed to hire a new CEO, would he be interested?

After some contemplation and deep anxiety about how things will turn out, I have finally come to the correct conclusion that I will have to follow my heart. It's not just right for me, but also for the organization. Having a reluctant CEO is not something that will go very well, I think.
