Director of Look Back worked on the anime film until the day before the premiere

In a recent interview, Oshiyama commented:

They were extremely difficult days. It felt like I was doing a difficult triathlon. Every day was so exciting and it was barely over. It's actually still too early to finish, so I don't feel like it's really over, so I thought if everyone watched the movie today, I would finally feel like it was over… I was in the studio all day for about two and a half months. I finally went home yesterday and slept on my own futon. I think I've accumulated quite a bit of sleep debt.

The anime adaptation of Look Back was made in Studio Durianwith Kiyotaka Oshiyama in charge of direction, character design and even writing the script. Furthermore, as a character designer, he also had to work directly with the animators and make the frames himself. It's not about “exploitation”, but he himself decided to work this way. However, it is also a reality that other productions with much more staff still suffer from this type of problem, and it is a constant problem within the anime industry, where more and more productions with shorter delivery times are being requested.
