The cosplay event “acosta!@Ikebukuro Sunshine City” was held at Ikebukuro Sunshine City in Tokyo for two days on May 11th and 12th.

The event is held in Ikebukuro, a location with excellent transport access, and is always attended by many cosplayers and photographers from the Kanto area.

In addition to the sunny rooftop plaza, there are plenty of photo locations within the area, such as the pedestrian deck and indoor hall, so you can choose a location that matches the atmosphere of the character. You can also enter participating stores in Sunshine City and Sunshine Street in cosplay, and enjoy games and meals.

Many cosplayers participated in this year's “acosta!” event, which was held in spring-like weather. What caught my eye this time were the Chinese games “Goddess of Victory: NIKKE”, “Genshin Impact”, “Collapse: Star Rail”, and “Blue Archive”, as well as the VTubers from Hololive and Nijisanji. They continue to appeal to fans by adding new stories and continuously streaming, and I think the fact that cosplay costumes are easy to obtain also leads to their popularity.
