In a statement to Comic Con Portugal 2024 revealed that it had more than 155 thousand participantshaving an economic impact on the region estimated at between 27.4 and 46.4 million euros according to the BDO Economic Impact Study and a study carried out between the 21st and 24th of March at Exponor, by ISAG-EBS CICET-FCVC.

From the point of view of the wealth generated by the organization and companies whose activity depends on Comic Con Portugalit is estimated among the 16.2 and 27.4 million euros. In turn, the event generated an economic impact for the country of 53.4 and 89.6 million euros.

We thus know that during the four days, 155,234 participants attended the event (an increase of 27.5% compared to 2022 and almost 10% compared to the previous maximum, recorded in 2019, pre-pandemic). Of all the events held by Exponor in the last decade, on the 3rd day of the event, it was recorded as the highest visitor record within that same venue.

Over 220 hours of content taking place across 10 stages and more than 150 brands (national and international) involved, the 2024 edition of Comic Con Portugal was attended by the three main Portuguese channels (“Taskmaster” (RTP), series “Blue” (SIC) and the series “Morangos com Açúcar” (TVI).

Major film and television studios were also present with content and brand activations, including AXN (Sony Pictures Entertainment Iberia) with the incredible Escape Room “Trapped to AXN”; The Sony Pictures Portugal brought the film “Ghostbusters: Ice Empire” with a brand activation where it was possible to see the “Ecto-1” car up close. The studio also provided Dragon Ball fans with a moment of homage to the saga and its creator Akira Toriyama with film projection “Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero”; Syfy (NBC Universal) with an activation of Icónico Chucky and with the presence of talent Raymond Lee from the series “Quantum Leap”; A Cinemamundo left no one indifferent with its activation of the television channel. At the same time, in the cinema, it allowed fans to come into contact with the activation of Warner Bros. Portugal with the movies “Angry” It is “Godzilla vs. Kong” and on the national scene it brought the cast of the film “Bloodless Revolution” to the Golden Theatre.
