Michihiro Hori
Born in Toyama Prefecture. He is an urushi manga artist. He graduated from National Takaoka Junior College (currently the Faculty of Art and Culture, University of Toyama) with a major in lacquer crafts. He graduated from Ishikawa Prefectural Wajima Lacquer Art Training Institute. After working at a cultural property restoration company and working as a craftsman at a lacquer shop, he debuted as a manga artist in 2003 and has since worked in the fields of lacquer and manga. He is the director of the Kintsugi Club, which holds Kintsugi workshops in Tokyo (Kunitachi/Nishi-Ogikubo), Kanagawa (Hayama), and Fukuoka (Hirao). His books include “Easy Kintsugi that you can do at home'' (Jitsugyo no Nihon Sha), “Urushi, Manga, and Me – The Horizontal Work'' (Komagusa Publishing), and “Seishun Uruhashi! Urushibe” (Seirin Kogeisha), etc.
