To commemorate the 15th anniversary of its theatrical release, it will be screened nationwide for a limited time for two weeks starting July 26th (Friday) as part of a revival screening project sponsored by Japan's largest movie, drama, and anime review service, “Filmarks.” It has been decided.

The screening period will be scheduled to coincide with the “anniversary'' of “Summer Wars'' on August 1st, which is the birthday of Natsuki's great-grandmother, Sakae Jinnai (Grandma Sakae), who is the senior character Kenji admires. !

We are preparing a number of projects to enliven the commemorative 15th anniversary, including the distribution of original visitor benefits, so please look forward to future announcements for details.

◾️About “Summer Wars”
Director Mamoru Hosoda's first original work. It was released theatrically in 127 theaters nationwide on August 1, 2009, and had a long run of 4 months, attracting 1.26 million viewers and box office revenue of 1.65 billion yen. It received high praise both domestically and internationally, including winning the Japan Academy Award for Best Animated Feature and being officially submitted to the Berlin International Film Festival. The advanced world view of the Internet depicted through his works has created many fans among creators and engineers.

◾️About “Studio Chizu”

Studio Chizu is an animation film production company that plans, produces, and produces works directed by Mamoru Hosoda. Director Hosoda and producer Yuichiro Saito, who has worked together since “The Girl Who Leapt Through Time'' (2006), the director's first freelance job, have worked together on “Wolf Children'' after working on “Summer Wars'' (2009). Established Studio Chizu in 2011 as a studio to produce “Rain and Snow'' (12). After that, he released “Bakemono no Ko'' (2015) and “Mirai no Mirai'' (18), and won the Japan Academy Award for Best Animated Work for five consecutive works.
